Tue, 29 May 2012 11:13:00 -0700 Choosing The Right Lawnmower To Cut Grass http://timingspristine.posterous.com/choosing-the-right-lawnmower-to-cut-grass http://timingspristine.posterous.com/choosing-the-right-lawnmower-to-cut-grass

Maintaining your yard is a tedious task that gets more difficult as the size of your lawn increases. Those that have larger yards have to put in more work in order to keep it in a suitable appearance. The most important tool that you will use when cutting the grass is your lawnmower. Selecting the right one is the main part in making sure this task is not more difficult than it needs to be.

For those of us that have a lot of grass to cut on a weekly basis, the riding lawnmower may be our best option. Driven like a golf cart, it can have a drastic impact on how long it takes you to cut the lawn each time. The riding lawnmower does require the use of gas, which is quite expensive at this time, and periodic maintenance; however, the ample time that you save can be used in more opportune ways, which is very important to some. At the same time the riding lawnmower does have some drawbacks, as it is difficult to maneuver in some locations.

The push lawnmower is smaller and requires more work when moving around your lawn. The simple motion of pushing it against the resistance of the grass is an exercise in its own right. It will be more difficult to use the push mower over time but it does have the benefit of being smaller. The smaller mower will allow you to get it into the tight positions that the riding mower will not fit.

Properly maintaining your yard requires you to select the correct type of lawnmower to use.

Sun, 13 May 2012 16:34:00 -0700 How Do Your Daffodils Grow http://timingspristine.posterous.com/how-do-your-daffodils-grow http://timingspristine.posterous.com/how-do-your-daffodils-grow

Nature has given us many things to wonder about from insects to the weather and of course our flowers. One of the beautiful wonders that we have are daffodils and the vibrant colors that they have. There are several different types as well as hybrids that you will be able to find. The most common color is yellow but you will be able to find them in yellow and white, yellow and orange and even lime green and pink. They also come in different sizes as well such as one that is very small that are only 5 inches when it blooms with a stem that is 2 feet or a stem that is only 2 inches with a bloom that is only half an inch.

If you are considering planting them in your garden you are going to find that with the selection in colors and size you could use them to decorate throughout your entire garden and make them look beautiful. Of course if you are going to grow miniature daffodils you should keep them in an area that will not become overrun with taller flowers. These could be that little something special that you have in your garden.

These are flowers that will come back each and every year and they grow in clusters when they do. If you are looking for a group plant, daffodils could be the very thing that you are looking for. Keep your eyes open for those that are different colors so you can add a variety to your garden. Plant them where they can come back the following year without interfering with the other plants that you have planted around them.

Wed, 18 Apr 2012 10:56:00 -0700 The Indoor Hydrangea http://timingspristine.posterous.com/the-indoor-hydrangea http://timingspristine.posterous.com/the-indoor-hydrangea

I have many many favourite plants and flowers. When you are a gardener you grow to be fond of many different varieties of special pants and flowers. The Indoor Hydrangea is a particular favourite of mine and I love putting them outdoors. Sometimes there are some varieties of indoor hydrangea that are not hardy and unfortunately you cannot put them out in the garden. However, some other varieties will flourish outdoors and the only way you can really tell is by putting them out and giving it a go. Some of them they grow them specifically as pot plant hydrangea but most of them should be all right outdoors.

Some people ask me how I get my Indoor Hydrangea so blue and how do I keep them blue? Keeping them blue is another matter altogether and it is largely down to the soil conditions. You need to have a suitable variety of hydrangea, they have to be ones that generally have the word “blue” in their title. Making them go blue you have to grow them in an acid soil. In our area there are some soils which are acid and others which are limy. If you soil is limy then the only way you can get it to be successfully blue is to grow them in a pot using an acid type compost. You also have to water the plants regularly through the seasons with powdered allumn. The soil will give the powdered allumns the right condition for the allumn to work and make the hydrangea blue.
